Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL)

For immediate access to routine or crisis services, please call the Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225. GCAL is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year to help you or someone you care for in a crisis. Additionally, you can also access GCAL’s services via text and chat through an app called My GCAL available 24/7/365.

During a Crisis

When you or someone you care about is experiencing a mental health crisis:

  • Call 911 if the situation is a life- threatening emergency.

  • Call the DeKalb Regional Crisis Center at 404.294.0499, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Visit the DeKalb Regional Crisis Center (DRCC) located at 450 Winn Way, Decatur, Georgia 30030.

For non-crisis situations, DeKalb CSB Central Access serves as the central point of contact for DeKalb Community Service Board. Call 404.892.4646 for information about services. DeKalb CSB serves all clients who are eligible for treatment. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. Sliding scale fee based on income is available. They also accept the following plans:

  • Peachcare for Kids

  • Amerigroup

  • Wellcare

  • Peachstate

  • Care Source

Crisis Text Line

 
Crisis Text Line is free, 24/7 support for anyone in crisis. Text 741741 from anywhere in the US to text with a trained Crisis Counselor. You can text about anything you are struggling with, and the trained volunteers are there to provide support. 

CARES Warm Line

This warm line is staffed by people in long term recovery who are available to provide empathy and support for those seeking encouragement and support from substance use issues.

Mecklenburg County (NC) Crisis Line

Mental health professionals are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week who can assist with mental health or substance use issues, as well as situational crisis (victim of crime or witness to violence).

National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline

Call 800.656.HOPE (4673) to be connected with a trained staff member from a sexual assault service provider in your area.

Calling the National Sexual Assault Hotline gives you access to a range of free services including:

  • Confidential support from a trained staff member

  • Support finding a local health facility that is trained to care for survivors of sexual assault and offers services like sexual assault forensic exams

  • Someone to help you talk through what happened

  • Local resources that can assist with your next steps toward healing and recovery

  • Referrals for long term support in your area

  • Information about the laws in your community

  • Basic information about medical concerns
